Played Feb. 12 Champions, behind an “international” group with a number of foursomes. Pace of play was good 4.5 hours. Tees were ok not great. Fairways very good except for unfilled divots; if you missed the divots you had a good lie. Fairway bunkers were mostly without sand, and greenside that had some sand often had not been raked by the proceeding players. Greens were fair to poor, very slow and significant unrepaired pitch marks; many of which seemed to be from days before (also sunflower seed shells). The overall condition was fair, I’d expected much better. With a significant number of their customers being self-centered and inconsiderate I wouldn’t expect conditions to improve much.

Played Champions twice 1/31/14. Took advantage of the underpar coupon and got in 36. Only played Champions because Legends was too busy. Course is playing really great. Fairways are lush as is the rough. In the AM the rough was wet, which made it much tougher. Greens have that camo look but rolled pretty nice. Bunkers were heavy but soft so very playable. This course had some weather damage a while back and this is the first time it has looked completely healed. This has been and still is a favorite of mine. Take advantage of the great weather and play this course!

Played Thursday morning early AM Tee time with fellow GKer Sbogey, we had a good unlimited deal so we played 36 holes today. Course is in REALLY nice condition, Fairways are just perfect.....Greens were interesting....slow, fast, slow....hard to read, but putts rolled smooth.
I found more than my share of bunkers today, and i can say they are in great shape.

Staff was friendly and the fish n chips afterwards were not too bad at all.

morning round had stellar weather, afternoon round was a pretty chilly and mild wind.

POP on the first round was about 3.5 hours, 2nd round was closer to 5 hours.

Takes me an 90 minutes to drive up to this course, but i really dont mind doing it a few times during the year....if you haven't played it......give it a shot....it is worth the flyer.

Fairways were lush, green and very well manicured. Greens were smooth and rolled very true. Although, it was firm and fast. Difficult to read breaks but very challenging. Roughs were fro 1-2 inch thick and you would need to have clean ball contact. Tee boxes were leveled with exception of a few holes. Overall, it was great playing Champions course since we played Legends once before. Definitely will return

Played Thursday Oct. 31, and the course is in pristine shape. Tee boxes are nicely level, fairways are plush green, and the greens are immaculate and fast. Pace of play was right around 4:15, as I was in a group of three. I went on as a single at 10:00 am, and got out right away. One thing about the Champions course is that on holes 6-13, you are going into a decent headwind, and it took me at least three or four holes to determine the amount of club needed to reach the pin. After 13, you turn back towards the clubhouse and ride downwind. But those holes 6-13 are tough if the gusts reach 10 -15 mph.

Played here 8-17 and was very disappointed.
A lot of the tee boxes are beat up and very hard to find a level spot.
The fairways had lots of large dry/burned areas which made for tough lies.

Played here 8-17 and was very disappointed.
A lot of the tee boxes are beat up and very hard to find a level spot.
The fairways had lots of large dry/burned areas which made for tough lies.
Other parts of the fairways were soggy from over watering.
The rough was inconsistent from short and patchy to thick and dense.
The bunkers were also a mixed bag. Some had sand but several where thin and had lots of rocks.
The greens were the best part. They were medium fast and ran true. They did have a lot in repaired ball marks.
I will be waiting awhile before I return.

Played on 8/8 with another GKer. Course was in great shape!! I was a little concerned as when I booked the tee time I was told that they had been thinking of closing it and reworking it. I asked at the pro shop and was told that the extreme heat had really cooked the grass and that they had over-watered in an attempt to keep more from frying. Yes, there were numerous soggy and boggy spots but nothing that really detracted from playability. Surprisingly, with all the water, the sand was actually nice and light for the most part. The rough near the fairway is perfect- lush and thick. The rough a little further away is desert mostly! :-) The greens were ideal! Smooth and FAST. They held decently but allowed some roll too. The only negative here was the staff. Usually the staff here is fantastic but not so much today. Nothing terrible - just not overly helpful or concerned. (except the starter who was fabulous!) The cart girl....appeared to have some shady place to be. We saw her ONCE on the front....and that was it! A marshal (YES, a MARSHAL!!) approached us on the 13th to tell us it was jammed up in front of us, beginners, and he was trying to move them along. We asked him about a cart girl and he said he'd send her. Nope. The funny thing is that after we saw him the pace picked right up, fastest all day, and never jammed up! Still, both these courses are well maintained, have a good variety of holes, provide the right amount of challenge for all levels except beginner, and are definitely worth playing. I always come back!! Special in August- Thursdays are $35 for 18 w/ cart and range balls!

Played 8-8-13. Took advantage of their Golfer appreciation days special at $35. Course is a bit beat up. I guess the rains recently took a toll on the fairways. Greens are rolling nice though the speed went from quick to speedy. Not sure if they were drying out or what but there was a huge difference between front and back. Bunkers were in ok shape though a little damp. Rough was just that , rough. Thick and deep. If you missed the fairway you paid the price. The fairways had many areas of ground under repair as well as dead areas. Some spots were so wet you sank in when you walked on them.
Only saw the cart girl once on the 4th hole but never saw her again.
Its clear that the weather has had a detrimental effect and they are trying to get it back in shape but there is a ways to go to fix all the damage. Hadn't played this course in a while but enjoyed the day very much. It is still worth playing but give it another month and I bet the course will be in tip top shape.

Played yesterday @ 2 pm. This was round 2 of our Underpar special. Champions was not as in good condition as Legends. Many wet spots in the fairway, damaged by carts. Dried out fairways and bunkers were in considerably worst shape than Legends. The greens however, were fast and firm and pulled true. Champions is a more challenging layout, especially in the back nine. Looking forward to returning.
