Early morning round at Coyote Hills. Almost perfect weather, particularly for mid-February. More grass on the fairways than I expected. Greens were OK, some better than others, but overall rolled pretty true. Not in any bunkers, but they appeared OK.

If you take advantage of the e-mail specials they send out, this course is a well priced, otherwise, I find it a bit too pricey. Staff is always great here and the course is just plain fun to play. Lots of "different" holes, great vistas and plenty of scoring opportunities.

Played here a week ago (Monday Feb 8). The course is an awesome track that winds in and out of the Fullerton Hills. Awesome views and oil derricks all over. They didn't do the best job pairing up twosomes so it took us about 4.5 hrs to get through the round. A lot of tight lies as there is an apparent water shortage (most water features are low and/or dry). Would play here again but $70 on a weekday is a little high. You can get Oak Creek weekday deal for $80 and thats much better.

I played here on 2/3/16 and the course was in good shape. The greens are running fast, this is typical for Coyote Hills this time during the year. Fairways are coming back from being dormant and were rolling out. Pace of play could have been better, we finished in 5 hours for a weekday.

They are doing maintenance to the sidewalk on hole #1 so it was playing 75 yards up. The work should be done in a week but call first if this will pose an issue for you and your group.

Overall, good to very good conditions. Fairways have greened up a bit, but for the most part are still very firm, roll forever, and cut tight. That said, still very playable, but you won't be taking much of a divot, as very little cushion under the ball.
Greens were above average, rolling medium speed, but a little bumpy in spots. Played at 930 am and would have expected a little smoother roll, but again not much to complain about.
Bunkers had an abundance of nice fluffy white sand which was great for greenside bunkers, but made for a very difficult fairway bunker shots (of which I had 3). One fairway bunker (#2) was just right which allowed for clean contact from distance, but others (#12) were so deep with soft, fluffy sand, it was impossible to advance ball very far.
Service was excellent and the all inclusive deal (Breakfast, Lunch, (1) drink, Golf, range balls and cart) is the best deal in OC. Very friendly service inside and out.
Enjoyed the day. Course is playing shorter than usual with the fast fairways so important choose tee boxes and clubs correctly. Scenic course, Par 70. Enjoy it now.

Played Friday. This is a fun little course with drastic elevation changes and one heck of a deal currently. Get this, $79 for a round of golf (we teed off around 10:30am). $79 gets you two drinks (which can be alcohol) breakfast AND lunch AND a small bucket of balls AND a cart.

This is a heck of a deal. Check it out. I was expecting to pay around $90 for just golf but the starter mentioned the deal and I was ... am I stupid? Of course! Out of the box I saved $11 but with all the frills, I certainly got my money's worth.

OK enough of the advert. Here are the current golf conditions. No over-seeding - everything is dormant and thinish. Tee boxes are flat. Bunkers in fairway have hard packed sand. Bunkers around the green certainly feel soft underfoot but some have little or no sand underneath with hard packed clay. Took a bit to figure out but you really just have to hit down and expect to explode the ball out of the bunker. Fairways are dormant. Brown but certainly playable, no thin lies here. Rough though is non existent. Spots where you expect the ball to hold around with the helpf of the rough will simply roll off into oblivion. Happened quite a few times to my buddies. My advice try to keep the ball in play as much as possible. Missing straight is a good thing. Green complexes are a bit thin but playable. Took a while to figure out how to get on the green but finally settled with putting or using my hybrid around the greens to get close. Greens are QUICK. They are slick and very fast. They do hold a line but you have to commit to your line or expect your ball to waver off course. Be too aggressive and watch your ball lip out. Go for the center instead of easing the ball in is the best and unfortunately only choice to make.

Play here again? Yes! The price is right and the value they provide definitely worth the price of admission. Pace of play decent at 2 hours after 9, 4 hours after 18. Not bad for pace of play for a Friday and with a Tournament before us. I would definitely play here again even if it is a drive. Mind you we were a threesome following two foursomes. We were on their tail the entire round.

Yeah the flags were on the half that wasn't punched but man that made every shot into the green twice as tough. Tee boxes good & level, fairways better than most considering the drought we're in. Rough very playable, not long at all. Great service despite a lot of activity going on.receptions,banquets A surprisingly short course from white tees,most yardages 298-325 . I'd play it again soon when the greens healed but look for weekday rate,gets pricey on week ends.

Got a solid 50$ with a cart deal for sunday afternoon. It was 101 degrees out!!! The course was in fine summer condition, green fairways and great greens. I was actually surprised at the current conditions here given the drought etc. however I think recent rains have really assisted with many golf courses in the area. I played from the tips which is really the only way this course will be challenging for long hitters. Its only 6500 from the very back but the course demands accuracy off the tee. We really enjoyed ourselves and will be back! They had ice towels on the first tee and we saw the court lady plenty of times! (I'll post a couple pics I took!)

My only complaint is the tee boxes. Many of them are crowned and it has always been this way whenever I have played here.
It was super hot (102) when we finished. the greens were a little long and we figured they were not cut short due the extreme heat.
Saw the cart a couple of time on both nines. There was plenty of water stations around the course and they had wet towels at the turn.
One thing I thought was a little wastefull was the sprinklers were on mid day on the far end of the range.
While not my favorite track I enjoyed the round.

First off this Monday morning, and wow it was crowded! With the "special" pricing, it just brings everyone out I guess. At 5:30 there were groups lined up to play!

I forget just how much fun this course is to play. While not a really tough course, it offers lots of interesting shots and lots of visual pleasures. Overall while the condition was generally good, I can see the deterioration in the course conditioning compared to years ago. The greens were being punched today (small holes) and did not see any sand added. To my surprise they rolled very true despite the punching. I suspect they will have completed the course by days end, as they were already on #7 when I passed them there.

Staff was as usual very accomomdating. I never have a problem getting out early here, except with the special pricing, it has become rather competative for that first time off.
