Played 12/27/23 11:40. Was just able to get the round in with about 30 min of playing time left. Fairways in fantastic shape. Mostly lush and bright green with a decent roll out. There were few troubled spots mixed through out, where the over seed didn't take and the Bermuda was scalped with not much coverage underneath. Over all, did not cause any big issues, but could be found with an unlucky roll. 99% of the them were in fantastic shape. Greens were in very good to great shape. They were running a little on the slow side for my taste, but rolled well. They looked fast, but were medium speed at best. Many of the par 3's had a lot of repaired divot damage but putts still ran true. They held shots well. Traps a little on the firm side, but consistent and in fine shape. Pace was good at about 4:15. I really enjoyed the layout. Mostly fair and fun. I like that none of the holes are alike or just straight. You have to play and think your self around this course. I NEED to play this course more often. Over all in great condition and a treat to play. Easy recommend!

Played early on 6/29. Course in very good shape, good fairway coverage and rough not overly high. Like most Desert courses there are some brown patches in most fairways but are still playable as the heat is over a hundred by 11 now. Greens are very good with that higher end true roll lacking in most public courses. Course is a bit pricey even now, we paid $88 on a week day morning. If you never played on a course designed to be used by the PGA this is a good example, only problem is the wind, which we luckily did not have to deal with. Plenty of tee boxes all the way back to 7,300 hundred yards or up to about 4,800 yards. Some fairway are as wide as three fairways and water is in play on at least half the course. Sand traps were in good shape with plenty of sand. In the winter the course goes close to $200 on weekends so if you can stand the heat now is a great time to experience a course many PGA player found too hard in the wind.

Back out here 2 weeks after my last round and two weeks of over 100° heat and little has changed. They were running a promotion of $99 on Sunday which included the $25 food and beverage credit. IMO this is one of the best deals in Socal. Yes the $25 can be used on alcohol for you degens out there haha. As for the conditions I did notice a few more brown spots around the property but rarely did they come into play. I did see 2 ground under repair sections on 2 of the fairways but they were small. The course is still very green and they were watering the course all morning. We had the first group out at 6:30 and found some spots a little too wet but with a tee off temp of 85° and a finishing temp of 108° they dried up fast. Greens were a little more receptive this go around and I even made a few ball marks. They are still fast and have a lot more break than expected. I know I missed 3 good birdie opps because of the extra break. Good practice facility and very large putting green to warm up. Starter and cart guys were very friendly and the cart with gps and Bluetooth are very nice. I hope they run this promotion again as its getting much harder to find a good deal under 120 for a nice course on the weekend now.

Awesome Round at Classic Club. Started with a nice breakfast burrito and very warm temps (103°) Light winds which is much better than the last time we played there. Course is phenomenal shape right now from tee to green.

Tee's- level and lush with multiple tees to choose from

Fairway- Super lush and cut short hardly a bad lie to be found anywhere on property.

Rough- Lush and not overly penal. I had a good driver day and didnt find a ton of the rough. It was easy to play from when in it.

Sand- Sand was mostly decent I did have one trap that was firm and wet. I found a lot of sand this day and other than that one it was all nice to play from.

Green- Firm and Fast just the way I like them!

Overall this course is just fantastic and is always on my list to play when in the desert. Carts are nice with GPS and beverage cart was around often.

Played my first round at Classic Club in a scramble. Pace of play was brutal, but that is to be expected for tournaments of this ilk.
Great layout for risk/reward golfing (you big hitters may be able to drive a few green, but DON'T MISS), and the par 3s were very challenging.
Good experience, and the staff was country club level professional. Worth the splurge, I'd say--it's not cheap, so enjoy!

Enjoyed yet another excellent GK Outing on T - Tuesday at the Classic Club. Played the Front 9 twice with Johnny, Gary, and Matt to complete the 2-Day – 72 Hole Extravaganza of Golf in the Desert! WOW, it really happened! CC is another Players Course in the Desert. I believe it is one of the best layouts in the Desert and would also place it in my Top 3 of the Desert. CC is a Championship Style course where your game simply needs to show up. It is by no means a target golf course, but accuracy is needed from tee to green if you want to have a good scoring round. This course shows its beauty and teeth in its elevation changes and hole design. You will find open fairways to hit at, but lots of bunkers, undulations, and occasional water. Greens are generally mid to large in size and rolled fast and pure. At times the wind howled at us, but it was in limited windows. The course played its yardage, and I note CC as another Ball Striker’s Course without being a target layout. The course was in excellent condition. The course layout is rated a 5 out of 5, conditions are rated a 4.5 out of 5. I note the following: Tee Boxes: Level and lush, no damage. Excellent condition. Fairways: Green at times tight. Excellent condition. Greens: Green, fast in speed with nice hold, while still holding quality shots. Speed at about an 11. Excellent condition. Sand: Well-maintained heavy but not hard. Excellent condition. Rough: Well defined from the fairway and green collars but not too overgrown, about 2 – 4 inches. Excellent condition. Waste Areas: Observed on various holes and did not offer much opportunity of recovery due to the overgrown nature. Excellent condition. Driving Range: The range was very nice. Hitting off a grass surface. Situated on a flat section of the facility and hitting into a grassland with green markers at 100, 150, 200, 225, and 250 yards. Range ran out at about 350ish. Range balls were top of the line Titleist Practice balls. Very nice! Practice Putting Green: ample and very well maintained. Surface speed was consistent with the course greens. Chipping Green: ample and very well maintained. Several pins noted to work on the short-game, along with sand bunkering. POP: 4 hours – very little wait encountered. Food: awesome restaurant at the turn, the food was incredible. Also had an ABC Burger here, it was a perfect! Service: we received incredible service from Bag Drop, in the Pro Shop, and in the Restaurant. Top class! I loved CC and wish I could have played the Back 9. This is a must play when you are in the Desert. As previously mentioned, this is one of my Top 3 of the Desert. Just a top-notch course and facility. A 5-Star golf experience all the way. Strongly endorsed! Thank you Johnny and GK for this outing!

We played the white tees because we did not feel like playing 6700+ yards in the wind. I normally always play the blues so the whites was fun change … LOL - Classic Club still beat me up.

Everything about the layout at Classic Club is BIG and challenging. Hit a ball towards a fairway bunker or water hazards and you’re likely going to be in it. Play well be rewarded. Play OK or Poor prepare to be punished. It’s a former PGA Tour course that once you play it you feel like you played a big league track.

Conditions at Classic Club were near immaculate. Greens smooth, fast and holding shots. Fairways lush with some dry spots. Rough lush and cut down to just over fairway height. Bunkers excellent with high quality sand and well groomed. I still miss the Pac-Man bunker on Hole 5 - #bringpacback – check out the photos I posted. Pac-Man was replaced by what looks like Goggles now. LOL – Tee boxes in fantastic shape. Speaking of tee shots, it does not get much better than Classic Club. So many inspiring shots out there to hit.

Prior to the round I presented Classic Club with the GK Year Ending 2022 Best Playing Conditions for all of Southern California. Hats off to their crew and all the capital golf course improvement projects completed. Don’t miss out on playing Classic Club in 2023.

Day 2b buddies trip. Last round of the trip saw us at probably my favorite course in the desert. Tee off time was 140pm. We played the front nine twice under perfect conditions for the first 7 holes and then several wind gust storms that swirled to 35mph plus at times and then stopped and started for the remainder of the day. We had the breakfast burritos and burgers on their massive patio overlooking this stunning facility. All staff encountered were friendly and helpful. All grass range and practice areas here are fabulous. I could spend hours there. Very comfortable carts, bottled water and GPS all a nice touch. The greens were firm and in good shape. Most of the green complexes are guarded by strategic Fairway bunkering. Most greens are ample size and some have some multi tiers to them. Rating the greens a 8 to 8.5 out of 10. Fairways were in good shape. Some sections on front had very small areas of dried grass but nothing to major. Overall would rate them still an 8/10. Tees were level and beautiful. Rated 9/10 Rough was beautiful and well maintained 9/10. Not in any bunkers but they looked well, maintained. Was bummed we could not play the back nine as holes 13 to 18 are my favorite stretch of holes. Former PGA tour stop. Wonderful layout, top notch facilities, great conditions. Disneyland for adult golfers. Highly recommend this course to all golfers

Made our annual trek out to the Desert to play peak season golf. We had to choose two courses to play, so why not choose golf courses that support Greenskeeper.org! We played Classic Club on Friday 1/27. We had two tee times at 12:10 am 12:20. Larry Q and myself were the only ones that have played this course before so we brought 6 new fans. We arrived early to take advantage of their expansive practice facility. The range was well stocked with premium Titliest practice balls and there is a large sand trap chipping area along with a large practice green. We checked into pleasant staff at the pro shop with well stocked gear. The large clubhouse was grand and you could tell they use to host a PGA tour event here with pride. The green fees including a towel and a $25 food and beverage voucher. The food was promptly prepared and delicious. The staff at the grill was super pleasant and accommodating as with all the other staff we interacted with. The Course: The course was super green, and in super shape. We lucked out with the winds as the day before the marshall said it was blowing pretty hard. Greens were smooth, super firm and running between 11/12. Fairways were like pool table felt. Rough and sand traps were well maintained. Pace of Play was 4.20 minutes even though the front nine took 2 hrs and 15 minutes. Tee boxes were level and maybe tee options for various handicaps. The back nine had some spectacular holes with water features including 11 and 12. My friends could not believe how immaculate the course was. We joked how our next round in Los Angeles after this trip was going to be a letdown no matter what. We enjoyed our day and it was treat to play at such a well run and beautiful course.
