Customer service was outstanding and the course was in better shape than the PGA West courses we played the day before. Fun layout, fantastic course conditions, and a great value. This course doesn't get the headlines that some of its neighboring courses receive, but we would not hesitate to play it again. Excellent course!

Played the classic on a beautiful Thursday. Course is near perfect. I forget how fun the desert is in December and January. Greens perfect and fast, fairways lush and nice lies all day. Rough has not grown in completely but was in good shape. Bunkers nice and takes on the carts so everyone keeping them maintained. This course is hard and has a ton of water so bring lots of balls. Covid in effect but not bad, had a great lunch too and food was great. Service was five star all around.

Played Classic Club Thursday with GK Gurus. Classic Club recently reopened from COVID-19 precautions on September 1st and before you know it will be closed again for overseeding on October 11th. It’s one of my favorite layouts in the Palm Springs region that I had originally intended to play earlier this month after our Desert Willow outing but couldn’t so had to get out there for special trip.

The golf course was COVID-19 cautious in that there were well defined areas around the clubhouse requiring social distancing with mask required. Mask not required while playing or practicing. They encouraged single cart riding (not required) and what was cool is every cart had their own rake. It was the first time I raked a bunker since March and given how beautiful condition the sand was, it was a pleasure to do so. Best bunkers I’ve played with exception to Pebble Beach and Spyglass this year. Also we played the last day of using the contraptions that have the bar on the pins so you can use your putter to lift it up. I talked with the golf shop after because many of those contraptions did not work being bent out of shape and looked pretty shoddy. They told me they were going to be having pool noodles in the holes moving forward staring the next day! - LOL - the noodles are better for sure.

Had some time to warm up and forgot how fantastic their driving range was. It’s all grass, huge and many green complexes to hit to. On the course, I found the conditions as expected due to the heat and nearing the close of their summer season. Greens bermunda, slow, mostly dry but rolled smooth. My problem is how to read the bermunda grain … which I always struggle with. Fairways, lush, with some dry areas but also damp areas which played a little inconsistent as far as firmness but beautiful lies all day. Rough, similar to the fairways, not quite as lush, not long and easy to escape from. Tee boxes in great shape. Love how big the tee boxes are out there. Bunkers as mentioned, exceptional. Overall the golf course was in very good shape.

Service was fantastic and personal.

As far the layout and experience, everything at Classic Club is grand. Large fairways, large bunkers, large lakes, large greens and long. Massive clubhouse and as mentioned practice facilities. You know you’re teeing it up somewhere special. A PGA Tour caliber golf course for sure that used to host the Bob Hope. Highly Recommend.

Played 9-24-20 morning with some GK Gurus teeing off around 8:30 and finishing in a little under 4 hours with some minor waiting. Tee boxes were in nice condition, level with nice coverage. Fairways for the most part were in good shape with some miner thin and bare spots. Rough was in good shape, a little longer than fairways and fairly easy to hit from. Was in one greenside bunker that was in the best shape that I've played in since the start of covid conditions. Greens were in okay condition, rolling slow with some minor bare spots. Overall course in nice shape, and always fun to play.

Played in the first group of Thursday morning’s #GKReviewGuru outing with Johnny, Nick and Daniel. Fun times. Started right on time and played in a little over 4:00, with each of us using single-rider carts. Carts are equipped with coolers, ice, and two bottled waters. They also had tees and a rake.

The course is in really nice shape for the time of year and prior to closure for overseeding. The bermuda greens are smooth and quite firm, but accept full shots well. They roll about medium slow speed, but the good news is they aren’t scruffy at all, just slower than they look. Bermuda fairways were very nice. Same for the rough: nice conditions, not too penal. Each cart having its own rake makes for really nice bunker conditions, despite COVID regulations. I was in quite a few bunkers and they were all good; only minor knock is that they were a little inconsistent from one to the next on how much sand was in them. (But that’s getting really nitpicky when many courses have landmines for bunkers right now.) Blue tee boxes were good; don’t recall ever having to think about where to tee the ball due to any problem areas or anything.

It was my second time playing here. The first time was in prime springtime conditions where the course looked incredible in late-afternoon sunlight. This time was late summer grass mostly under midday sunshine, so the aesthetics weren’t nearly as nice, but it still played really well, and the fantastic layout is fun either way.

Rode the Blues (6711/72.9/135) in slightly over 4H early morning with John, Mark and Daniel. Thanks to John for setting up and to Classic Club for having the guru group out. Around 105 and hazy with a little breeze by the time we were finishing. Classic Club was designed as a suitable host for the PGA Palm Springs tour stop when it opened. They did host the PGA Tour for 3 years a little over a decade ago. The pro's did not like the frequently windy conditions the area along the I-10 corridor is known for, and moved to courses more conductive to lower scoring. Fun Arnold Palmer design, nice elevation changes and valleys coupled with trees that would make you think this is more of a mountain than desert course make it unique for the area. Bermuda tees were level and lush with good coverage. Par 3's could use some divot attention, but the others were very good. Bermuda fairways had a few browned out and hardpan areas here and there, but very good overall. Bermuda rough was lush. Nice to chip from as the ball usually sat up. Sand traps were excellent with deep, thick, fine sand that both looked and played great. Rakes provided on the carts. Bermuda greens were firm and medium slow. Alot of grain on these greens. They have some browned out areas but putted better than they look. The customer service was excellent from everyone encountered. Drink cart out making the rounds. Upgraded carts with nice GPS and ports for electronics. Complementary water and good range balls on a 1st class grass practice facility. Everything about this place is top notch. Definitely recommended.

I had an enjoyable round Thursday morning with GK Gurus. Teed off at 8:25 and finished in 4 hours. The greens had some brown areas butt rolled good with medium slow speed. The fairways had mostly very good coverage with a few thin spots. The rough was in good condition and not too penal. The tee boxes were in good condition. The bunkers were well maintained and had plenty of sand.

The course has a nice design with plenty of water coming into play as well as fairway bunkers. The grass driving was nice and putting green was large. The carts had GPS, a rake for the bunkers, and fill bottles for divots. The food and beverage cart came around several times during the round. The club house is very nice with a pro shop with plenty of merchandise. All the staff I encountered were very friendly.

I played with the gk gurus on a Thursday; teeing off at about 8:30. The weather was near-perfect, with only a small amount of wind. Course conditions were good , considering the brutal heat the desert experienced this year. Tees were good, fairways had mostly good coverage, and the bunkers had really good sand (they put rakes in the carts to allow players to clean up their mess, too).
The greens were slow, but tricky, probably because the players in our group haven't played on Bermuda greens too often. I really like the layout here. The course is not easy, but very playable from the white tees. Lots of water in play off the tee. This course would be very tough from the back tees on a windy afternoon.

9/24 guru outing playing with Vince, Ron and Wayne very enjoyable group and fun to watch the shot making--if only we could have putted better. Overall considering the time of year and close to seasonal closure the course was in pretty good shape. Fairways had some areas that were really good and some thinner but still playable. Rough on the short side and fairly thick so the ball generally set up and was playable. Tees in good shape. Bunkers a joy to play from nice fine compacted sand well maintained(every cart had its own rake).
Greens are showing the most effects of the heat with some looking a little thin, but overall still quite healthy very few pitch marks. For me greens were hard to read what with more grain to consider and not only the slope but the effect of the prevailing topography(where again is Indio???)
Resort style layout with wide fairways many water features and lot of big traps filled with bright white sand which stands out in contrast to the green fairways and desert scape. Visually a real treat for the eyes.
Friendly helpful staff and a comfortable 4 hr POP. Keep in mind that the current rating for the course as of today is not a fair representation of future conditions after maintenance.
