Last review was back on Jan 20, 2020 so here is an update. Course is in great shape right now. Tee boxes are firm but still in good shape fairways are in good shape but you will be penalize if you land your ball in the rough, There is sand in the bunkers (at least in the ones I was in) and the greens were in great shape. Ball rolled true and around 11 on the stimpmeter. Customer Service was great at check in but he Marshall on the first tee box of the legends has an attitude issue. Maybe he was just having a Bad Day. Was a great day to play. I really enjoyed my round today.

Played 1-20-20. Read a review by amiller with a rating of 4.3 and thought it must be a mistake. After playing today I must agree. Not the course I have always loved so much. Thin everywhere so the rough was not bad. In many ways the best lies were in the rough. Tee boxes were dry and thin and they had the markers so far back that often your back foot was out of the tee ground. On the par 3's it presented a special problem as the ball would sit with an uphill lie. Sand was hard packed with lots of rocks. The greens varied in speed from so slow downhill putts stopped dead to slick enough your putt went past the hole and rolled off the green. A couple greens had large spots where the grass was gone and just a dirt patch. Very disappointing to see this course in this kind of condition. Lots of houses going in and it seems they are more focused on expanding the housing than caring for the course.

Played as a twosome.4.40 total. tee off at 10 got bumped to 1030 for no apparent reason. Asked why and no answer that made sense was given by club staff or the marshal. Fee was good at 41$. Boxes and fairways were in need of some water but were cut and not over grown. Greens overall were medium paced at a 10, but a fair amount of divots not repaired. Pins were typically back or front in tight within 4-5 paces from the edges. Tough placements. Bunkers were thin and need some attention. Lots of construction around to add future housing and cleaning up from earlier in the year flooding of the cart paths. Surprisingly not much wind today as usual for here in the early afternoon. Played terrible but had a nice time on the course

Played 10-23-19 early morning, joining a threesome and finishing in a little under four hours with no waiting and nobody behind us. Tee boxes were okay with decent coverage and mostly level. Fairways were in good condition, mostly lush with good lies and some minor thin spots. Rough was between 2-3 inches and lush with the ball sitting down occasionally. Was in two greenside bunkers that were very firm with little to no sand in them. Greens for the most part were in good shape, rolling medium/fast and semi-soft, but some of them did have small spots of a different grass or weed on them that would effect the roll a little bit. Overall most of the course is in real nice condition with a few bad spots, mostly the terrible condition of the bunkers.

Played 8-4-19. Got a great deal through Golf Now for under $40 each. Course is in good shape for the middle of summer. Tee boxes and fairway were lush with some thin spots. Greens were smooth but varied in speed from one section to another. Sand was terrible! Hard as a rock in most bunkers. Only ended up in 1 but others in the group were in many and the condition was the same. Consistent but not good. Frustrating how many ball marks I fixed today of which only a couple were mine. Rough was just that! Rough! Deep enough you could almost lose your ball in it and thick enough to make it tough to get out of. Over all a good course and well worth the money!

Our regular group played Morongo on 4/24 and was thrilled as I have never played the Legends course before. One person in our group bought a Groupon for here and comp’d the rest of us. Very nice of him to do so and therefore do not know what they charge. Beautiful day though. A little warm but no wind. Had a 9:30 tee time and we were a bit late (5 minutes) getting to the first tee and the starter let us know it. He wasn’t happy about it. Oh well! No one was in front of us and no one pushed us from behind so we finished in just about 4 hours. I really enjoyed this course. The fairways were in great shape so complaints there. No bad lies. Tee boxes were a bit beat up though. Interesting about the rough as on the front it was not much of a factor. On the back however, it was thick and we were losing balls just off the fairway. I felt the rough on the back was pretty unfair. Way too thick. Bunkers damp but no issues getting out. The greens were slower than looked and they were also very hard. You had to hit it clean to hold it. Little weeds were growing on the greens which didn’t give them a good look but they still rolled true. Looks like they are about due for aeration. A fun day out here at Morongo at a fun course. I thoroughly enjoyed the layout. A nice mix of long and short holes with a few doglegs. It is challenging but also fair with pretty generous fairways. Large bunkers come into play on just about every drive so just getting up there and swinging away doesn’t get it. You need to think the shot through. Thumbs up for this course.

Rode the Blues (6394/71.0/127) mid day with 24hourgolf using UP. 3H, 45M POP in overcast, breezy sometimes drizzling conditions in the 50's. Schmidt/Curley design that has a good mixture of shorter. risk reward holes and longer holes. Overall this is a challenging layout that is a fun course to play. I slightly prefer Legends over the sister Champions layout. The large green complexes here are well designed with mounds, slopes and contours to challenge you whether you were on or off the greens. The tees were mediocre. Most of the par 4/5 tees were okay and had good coverage. Most of the par 3 tees were not in good shape at all with large areas that had divots galore or were basically GUR where they were attempting to fix old divots. The fairways were patchy, a mixture of thin/lush and there were alot of old divots. The rough was mostly lush and thick. On the occasions when the ball settled down, it was whack a short iron out and get it back in play time. The sand traps looked well manicured. However, the sand depth and quality was usually substandard. Most were more hard packed and had some rocks in them. That makes large, green side bunkers playing to firm quick greens almost impossible. The poa annua greens did not look good at all, but putted much better than they looked. Firm and started out medium fast but had slowed to medium speed because of the drizzle later in the round. Too many ball marks to be considered good, even nice high irons rolled out. This would be a very challenging course to walk, numerous tees were a hike from the last green. Not an overly tight layout, but you cannot miss most fairways here by much without bringing penalty strokes (lost ball bushes & native overgrowth) into play. The carts have nice GPS. The customer service was excellent from everyone, but no drink cart today. All grass range. Recommended if you get a deal, nice layout but currently in mediocre playing condition.

I just copied the same review from Champions. Other than the greens being bigger on the Legends course and some great Par 3's. The conditions were the same, IMO. POP was better, as no one was on the course, due to weather conditions. 3.5 H POP. Played today on the Undepar $50 All Day Special, with Nickesquire. POP was 3h 50 under cold, cloudy skies (what is going on? It was 80 yesterday). Friendly check in in Pro shop and with starter. Found all customer service to be excellent at all levels. Speaking for myself, I found the course conditions less than "par". While the course is green, the fairways are spotty and you will find a mixture of different lies. Also, not much roll in them either. The tee boxes, while tee friendly, did not look good at all. The rough was about an inch high and punishable. Traps are big, deep and while looking good, are not very playable (hard packed and just hard to get the club under the ball). Greens are very strange? They looked like brown linoleum and speckled green paint? I have never seen greens look like this? Yet they putted fine and had plenty of speed (go figure).

Found a $16 hot deal yesterday so I decided to head out. I knew the possibility of a frost delay was very high and I was right. I showed up 10 minuets before my tee time and the pro shop let me know that there was a delay. When I got to the starter he mentioned that they did not start until 930 and that there were 7 groups a head of me. 4 from the shotgun start and 3 standard times. After the 4 groups went through the 1st the starter called me over to move me to the first group. I joined a father and son for the very long round. We had to wait on every tee until 15 when the shotgun players finished. POP was 5.5 hours and it was brutal.

Course is in good not great shape at the moment. The fairways and greens were nice but the tee's and rough were lacking. They had a fair bit of storm damage to some of their cart paths and rough which they have addressed but its going to take some time to fix. I must say the fairways were a mixture of two grasses and had some divot damage that was noticeable on the shorter holes. The greens IMO were fantastic they were soft and held most shots throughout the day. Speed was posted at 10.5 but I think they might have been a touch slower. Pin locations were very tough today and forced you to play safe and attack center green. Gps is a nice touch but on a few hole the Pin location was wrong.

Overall this course is still a must play and deals are easy to find to play here. Even rack rate of $60 is very affordable for the condition of this course.
