Past experiences have taught me that this course never disappoints! We had the second time off, but as we were just a twosome, Rich, the starter sent us off first. Thank You! Pace of play was great, at just a hair over 2 1/2 hours.

The course was possibly in the best overall condition I have seen it in a very long time. Fairways were lush, to the point where we didn't get much roll off the tee shots. Several greens had a lot of unrepaired ball mark damage, but otherwise they were very nice and rolled true. Greenside bunkers were just so-so.

Always enjoy my time playing here. Beautiful scenery, a lot of fun, interesting holes, and a few holes that really require "all I've got" to par them. This coupled with a staff that always accommodates, one of my favorite places to play.

Spent the afternoon at oak quarry today. Course was in greener condition than I expected given the recent warm conditions. I played the blues and teeboxes were in good condition. Fairways were generally lush with a good fluffy layer of grass. Much of it was green but quite a few brown areas also. there is a lot of ground under repair throughout the course. Bunkers were their usual poor condition here, hard thin layer of often wet sand. Avoid them. Greens had been lightly sanded and ran pretty slow and bumpy. A lot of ballmarks. One other complaint was an unusually foul smell on holes 2 thru 5. Not sure if it was the fertilizer or the water but it was very unpleasant, had not experienced that here before. Pop was about 4:15. Always a challenge here, especially when the wind picks up in the afternoon. Would benefit from some more water stations imo, and it would be better if they were cold.

Played OQ last Friday. It's been over a year since I played there and couldn't believe how good the conditions of course are. Fairways are lush and greens with minimal bare spots. Greens are rolling well albeit a little slow due to heavy watering due to heat. The place of play was excellent, we are about 1/2 a hole behind the senior group played in front of us and finished our round in 4H 20 minutes. We took advantage of the course special from dealcaddy.com, $89 for twosome. Will definitely go back there again soon.

Played the whites Tuesday, 8/9 as a single with a 1:00 tee off. Got an email discount and paid $38 (always includes cart, you can't walk here.) On the first tee, I waited for a single to tee off ahead of me and then a twosome teed off behind me. After that first hole I didn't see much of anyone until late in the round and, for some of the middle round, it felt like I had the course to myself. I really like this course and it did not disappoint, despite my underwhelming and sometimes frustrating scoring. Nice coverage on level teeing grounds, fairways offered good, consistent, green lies and if there were any brown or thin areas like many other courses I've been on lately, I just don't remember them. Fairway-adjacent rough was good — sometimes quite playable, sometimes enough to cost you a shot — too far off line and you're in the hard and wild stuff. "Fluffy" and "bunkers" are probably words never seen in the same sentence when it comes to OQ, and I was in two (bunkers, not fluffies) — a fairway bunker on nine and a green-side on 11. The fairway bunker was very firm, as in no loose sand, yet I hit one of my better shots of the day picking a 7-iron to pin high. In the green side bunker, I again got lucky in that the sand there was reasonably soft and playable, so I was able to make a good (but unconverted) escape. The greens ran a nice medium-quick, generally pretty true and with a receptive surface. On two holes (2, 6), just off the front edge of the greens on the run up to the holes, there were strips of sod removed, leaving exposed dirt. Some kind of repair work going on, but a minor and very limited issue. The wind can howl here, but it was relatively calm with a pleasant breeze. A couple of holes where the breeze bumped up the club selection, but more often of minimal impact. Temps were probably around 90º which is low for this time of year and pretty comfortable when you are riding. Caught up with the single and a foursome ahead of him by the 15th hole, but they all moved at a good pace so it caused no significant waiting on the closing holes. Finished in about 3.5 hours. Service is generally friendly and efficient, and the cart girl came by once. Great course, excellent value, and currently in fine shape. I really need to get here more often.

What a nice day. This was one of the rare times where I didn't encounter any wind throughout the entire round. There were just some nice breeze. Very enjoyable day at Oak Quarry.

Customer Service - I must have arrived at the same time as many others. Nobody came to pick up my bag but that's not a big deal anyway. Check-in process was easy and fast.

Conditions - I could write a lengthy review about conditions but I would be repeating everything scratchman said on his review posted on 8/4/16. Greens were just a bit slower than I expected but in good condition except for un-repaired ball marks which is really no fault of the course. Bunkers were in horrible shape. Luckily I didn't get into any but just looking at them had me shaking my head and each time I passed one, I was glad I wasn't in it. Some were hard-packed and some looked more like gravel than sand.

Starter - I'm in full agreement with mpisarski01's remark about the starter. I will detail my experience and let you decide whether he was just rude or his actions were acceptable. For those of you know Oak Quarry, after you check in, you drive up to the range, putting practice area and starter window. Then the starter sends you up to the first tee. People are usually very engaged in this area as they are stretching, practicing their putting, joking around with their buddies or getting introduced to new people they've been partnered/grouped with. I happen to be right next to the starter when he called our group to park our carts right behind his cart with the red flag. The other two players in my group were at the far end of the putting green and didn't hear well what he said. I called them over to move their cart but they thought we were called to go up to the first tee. While I stopped behind his cart, the other two players drove past his cart and when they were about ten feet past his cart, the starter and I called them to stop at the same time which they did. He may have meant to just get his message across clearly to them but to me, it sounded like he was yelling at them. He yelled "no, I said right behind this cart here! Get back down here!" As they made a u-turn and started driving down, the starter was shaking his head and spoke to himself, which I heard clearly. "Jeez, why are they circling around. Just back down." We didn't make an issue out of it because we didn't want to ruin our day but this is not the first time I thought this particular starter was very rude.

To end this review on a positive note, the marshall came around quite often and it was a nice touch for him to offer cold bottled water. I just wish they weren't so tiny. :)

Couple days late on my review but here it is. Played Tuesday Aug. 2nd with a tee time of 8am. Course was in great shape. Didn't expect that as it's been hot and dry for the past month. Fairways were lush and soft, didn't have a bad lie all round. Tee boxes were level and green and meticulously maintained. Greens were excellent EXCEPT for the unrepaired ball marks. Seriously people repair your ball marks it's not that hard. Seemed to be an excessive amount this go around. The bunkers were the worst part as they were hard as a rock and they had no sand in them. Was in two bunkers and they were terrible. Not sure why but they had been neglected. Overall it was a great round as always. One of my favorites to play and will always return. Minor downfalls when it came to the bunkers and the ball marks on the greens.

Played Sun morning at 930 and got off right on time. The starter was a little rude but he had about 15 carts lined up to go out and was a little over his head. The practice facility is pretty decent and includes a 50 yard long pitching area with sand and every lye imaginable. As typical with oak quarry its a slow round but is not bad because there is so much scenery to look at. Still enjoyed every minuet of the day.

Tee's- Mostly level and great coverage plus a wide area between the tee's so you could find a nice line to where you want to hit the ball.

Fairways- Also had great coverage with lush landing areas. There were a few areas that were a little brown but not too bad still about 90 percent green.

Greens- Greens were in great shape and and rolled medium fast and were well receptive of pitches and short irons. A few greens had some bumps but that was from poorly repaired divots. I was on fire and drained a few long distance putts with my new Cleveland Putter I won at GK Plays Los Serranos.

Rough- All rough within 15ft of the fair way was lush and anywhere between 2-4 inches thick which is very penal. Green side rough was extra thick and can ruin your hole as it will grap you club and keep you offline.

Sand- I was in 2 sand traps and they were firm and not very fluffy. This was the only down fall of the day

In all I love this course as a once in a while splurge because the price point is a little high for me at $93 but you get what you pay for and this is the diamond of the riverside area and a must play.

Our foursome teed off at 10:04. It was a 4.5 hr round because we got stuck behind a threesome playing from the wrong tees. Finally able to pass them at the turn. Majority of tee boxes are in good shape. Fairways are still green. The greens are soft and a bit bumpy so a little slower then expected.
As always the customer service was top notch from start to finish.
Very nice carts with excellent seats and GPS.
A very fun and challenging course.

Played Oak Quarry on 5/11/16. Course is in excellent shape. Only complaint would be the bunkers (I was only in 2), but the group consensus was that they were very packed and a lot of small rocks in them. We teed off at 7:32 and pace of play was fantastic (sub 4 hrs.). We only had to wait on 2 holes and there was no one behind us. We used the birdie card from Roger Dunn ($49 with a dozen Bridgestone E-6's + a lot of great discounts on green fees!) It is worth it just for the 2 rounds at Oak Quarry ($39)!
