This is going to be a two part review.
Haven't played the home track in a few weeks, I was on the DL, so I was so ready to get back in the swing. I've played here twice over the last week. The conditions were very favorable. It's winter golf so don't expect the pristine conditions like in the spring and summer. The fairways are dormant but still very playable, good roll out from the tee. The greens are in the best shape that I've seen over the past few months, looks like a lot of attention has been given to them lately. They were rolling very true and a little on the fast side. No excessive unrepaired divot marks and the area around all the greens are in excellent shape. Makes for great conditions for all your chips and approach shots. The tee boxes are getting some much deserved attention, first time out the tips and forward boxes were getting new seed and the second outing the blues and bites were getting theirs. The attention they are getting really shows. Pace of play can be great some days and then others it seems like you're waiting forever. Marshals are not to be seen on my preferred day of play, Monday's. First time out I had a good round at three hours and forty five minutes, and the second day out I finished 15 holes before walking off at just over 4 hours. I play here often, probably 15-20 times a year and when I made me tee reservation I noticed the course name had changed. So it looks,like a ownership or managerial change was in the works. One other note, I had a little bit of an attitude from the person at the check in, customer service here to to be be excellent. And the restaurant has always been a good place for lunch or a refreshment after your round. I suggest the Oak Quarry Club with chips and the spices dip.

The second part of this review is a product review. Recently I was the lucky reciecpient of a sponser give away from GK that included a dozen Srixon Z Star balls. From the very first tee I was hooked. I've been using Nike RZN Red for about a year now, IMHO a good ball at a fair price. The first thing I noticed was the carry of the ball. I was probably getting 10-15 yards further off the tee and on my approach shots I found myself clubbing down on the back nine. I was a hard sell that the ball we use make a difference in our game. I'm not a pro so I felt I didn't need to use Pro Vs. Everything about this ball changed my mind, from the tee to the green, this ball made a difference, and just to satisfy my own curiously on the second day out I went back to my Nike's. Trust me there is a difference. So I will probably hand the 4 dozen balls I have left in my closet to my son and my next purchase will be SRIXON!!
