Played 9/4. First time at the course and really enjoyed myself. Ended up playing with an employee (Steve) and a few of his buddies which was a real treat.

Tees and fairways were full and very well watered. Rough was not thick or penalizing at all. Wasn't in a bunker, but they all looked to have enough sand.

Greens were great! They were very receptive and rolled true. I thought they had decent pace, but the guys in our group said they were really slow for some reason. Would hate to see them when they are fast!

Interesting layout. I enjoyed the front 9 much more than the back, but both were very nice. Back 9 was a little more tricked up and full of blind shots, but nothing outrageous.

If you've never been, I highly recommend it. If you don't stress over scoring your first time out, and learn the lay of the land, I could see this as a really fun "regular rotation" course.

One last note: I love to walk and wouldn't walk this course if you paid me. Cart is included in the green fee - use it!

Before yesterday I had only played CrossCreek once many years ago. I tripled that total by playing 36 holes yesterday, as sixpez and I used the great GK Coupon for $40 (including free replay) after 11:00.

Conditions are very good. The greens look to be in great shape, but they run much slower than they appear like they would. They were smooth in our midday round but got slightly bumpier and wobblier in our late afternoon round. Some were firm and some were soft. It seemed those surrounded by trees were softer while the more exposed greens were firmer. Also, it was difficult to stop any downwind shots on the green. The fairways were very nice, except the sixth hole was a little shaggy. The rough was mostly good and nasty in spots, where sometimes balls would really sit down and were difficult to find. Tee boxes weren't pristine but no complaints from me, they were good to very good. I was in many bunkers and they were all good – no hard packed sand or rocks.

What I appreciated about the course is how it's such pure golf. There are no houses around, and some holes lead to unending vistas of raw land along the perimeter of the course. There are lots of elevation changes and a good variety of hole lengths and difficulties. I also loved paying only $40 for two rounds and basically having the whole course to ourselves. If this deal gets extended, I'll be sure to take advantage of it again.

Itslikeimsayin and I played here today using the killer GK Coupon for $40 with a free replay. Cannot beat that deal. We had an 11:03 tee time, but there was hardly anyone out there so we got out a few minutes early with another single. Never had to wait on any shot except maybe briefly on the 18th hole. We went right back out as a twosome and also didn't catch anyone until 18. In one way, it's a shame this place doesn't get more business, but on the other hand, it's pretty awesome to basically have such a great course to yourself for two rounds on a beautiful Saturday afternoon for just $40!!!

The course was in very good condition overall. Tee boxes good. A few fairway spots on the back were a little scruffy, but mostly they were all lush, green and great to hit from. The main cut of rough was mostly very good, with it getting more patchy as you near the outer edges. Around the greens, it was generally thick and the ball would sit down, making for some tough chips. The greens were pretty good, just running somewhat slower than they looked. I struggled with the speeds all day. I was in a couple bunkers and they were great. Fairway bunkers more firm and greenside ones with softer sand, just the way I like them.

I always love any excuse to visit CrossCreek. It's a fun, diverse and challenging course with fantastic scenery and a secluded setting. I love that they are filling in what was the "dead area" in between the loop of holes on the front nine with what look to be vineyards, so that will really add even more visual appeal when things mature. I hope the GK deal continues as I will certainly take advantage of that again.

Played our GK cup 7 semifinal match here on Wednesday. First time playing this course for me. Conditions were excellent. No sign of a drought at this course. Everything was green from tee to green. Greens were were fast and rolled smooth. I was in a couple of traps and the sand was just fine, easy to hit out. Course is pretty hard if you haven't played before. We used our GK coupon and for $40 it's a great deal. If I lived in the area I would definitely play this course more often.

Played for the first time in the morning on 6/20. The fella in the pro shop asked us if it was the first time for any of us, and when I said yes he was kind enough to give me a yardage book that proved to be very useful (as well as being a beautiful book). Even by our nine o'clock start time, it was already getting warm, and it ended up being in the high 80s/low 90s. There was a couple of water stations on each side, and the beverage cart came by several times. One thing that really bothered me was all the insects on the course that kept flying in my face in the middle of a swing or setting up a putt. It made me wish I had a tail like a cow to swat them away, or a pet bird on my shoulder that would eat them. They didn't start to disappear until the turn. The course itself was in really nice shape. Fairways were kept nicely, and I noticed just a couple of bare spots (I think the second hole had some). The rough was fairly forgiving, with the course keeping more of a wild chapparel feel along its edges rather than standard rough. The greens rolled beautifully, and held shots that came in. I was only in one bunker, in the fairway, so I can't speak to their quality, but my buddy said the sand was really deep and fluffy. The layout was really interesting, with many holes shaped by creeks or lakes, and I had to leave the driver in the bag and go with a three-wood three or four times. There was some elevation changes, but none that were severe. No GPS on the carts, but I don't remember taking more than 10 or 15 steps before finding a yardage marker. The front nine was really quiet, with just the sounds of woodpeckers and other birds. But the back nine had the odd sound of electronic dance music echoing through the valley from a nearby house party. I really enjoyed myself, and look forward to coming back. The round ended up being 4hrs and 50 min, with things slowing down on the back side (maybe people too busy dancing to the EDM). A couple of asides I should mention: as another reviewer said, the cell phone reception is really poor. As a result, my cell phone that had a 95% charge at the beginning of the round was down to 9% at the end because my phone kept working to find a signal. So maybe put it in airplane mode or carry an extra battery. Also, I had a turkey on wheat sandwich at the turn, and it was delicious, packed with turkey and fresh ingredients. So thumbs up to their sandwiches, and they also have cans of Boddington' s which is one of my favorite beers.

Played here Sat 6/20 using the $40 GK deal. Check in was pleasant and informative. It's always nice to get the lay of the land at check in. I haven't played here in a couple of years so the advice and booklet were very helpful. Having not played here in a couple of years, I was hoping that I would be able to use my Golflogix app but, nope...cellphone service is not available. Make sure you have a range finder because they only mark the cart paths and marked sprinklers are hard to find. The conditions here are some of the best I've played on except the tee boxes. The tee boxes are a bit unlevel and needed mowing. The fairway were fairly lush and rough was cut pretty close. Fairway and green side bunkers had nice fluffy sand in good condition. Greens here are immaculate...smooth, medium speed and virtually no pitch marks. Pace of play was around 4 hours. The only hold up was on the 18th hole...when you see it, you'll know why. It was a couple foursomes deep by the time I made it there. The overall experience here is terrific and the GK deal is frosting on the cake.

Played with my new wife for our first round as a married couple, had a blast. Played with another couple, friends of ours who had to use their underpar deal before it expired. Course was in fantastic shape, teed off at 2:30 and finished around 7, so good POP, we stopped at the turn for some drinks and a restroom break, so overall POP was just fine. We played a couples match with a 2 person scramble and really enjoyed it. Kinda sucks I couldn't post a score, but any sacrifice for the wife is worth it.

Fairways were very very nice, darn near perfect. Teeboxes were pretty good, fairly level with hardly any divot damage. Didn't find a bunker, but they looked pretty good, I scooped my wife's ball out a couple times and they raked nice and fluffy. Greens were fantasitic as well. Rough was hit and miss, sometimes heavy and penal, sometimes non existent. Overall, I always enjoy this course. Love the layout and 75% of the time it is in great shape. Good time to get out there and play if you have a chance.

Played 48 holes yesterday, 18x2+9+3. I haven't played here in years and forgot how tough this course can be. This is not a grip and rip type of course. ball placement and know your club yardages is everything. Had a great time and the staff here were great and treated us very nicely. Used the GK coupon for $40 plus replay and they let us go out for another nine + what ever we could get in before dark. Started our rounds in the fog which made the course play extra long and combining that with the elevation changes, made for a "your guess is as good as mine" type of morning. Carts do not have GPS, so a handheld device is almost essential here. Tees - are in decent shape, not great, but playable. Fairways - good shape, but a few could use a mowing. Greenside bunkers are in great shape with great sand in them. Rough - penalizing. Moisture from the fog, night sprinklers, and the grass very long, made being in the rough an adventure. Greens - Loved them, hard to read and just plain fun. The were med/fast and somewhat firm. For the most part not a lot of ball marks. This course is out there and does not have cell phone service which made it difficult for me to call in "sick" to work.

I played here on 5/17/15 and was first off so pace was not a problem. Service was quite good since they had a tournament starting at 8am but let me out beforehand. Met the starter on my way to the first tee and he was a bit rude saying I shouldn't be playing because of the tournament and then said "what do I know I only work here" Really?
Anyway, I wanted so bad to be able to rate this course higher but the conditions just were not there. The greens were the best part however I will tell you why they weren't rated higher....unrepaired ball marks from the locals. I have a resident card to play here and always have to repair at least 2-3 other ball marks on the greens including mine. Since I was the first one out at 6am these ball marks are there from the late afternoon locals that play before going home. Come on guys, you can't expect the staff to do your job.
Fairways we patchy and the rough was LONG and bare and inconsistent. Having said all this, I still love the course lay out and challenge. I always look forward to playing here when staying at our property since it is only 3 miles away.
