Played BCC twice this week, riding solo Wednesday am from the black tees and walking this morning from the blues with a mother and (middle age) son. Pace of play was good on Wednesday where I was sent off the 10th tee to avoid the pot game starting on the front nine. Today not so much when the course was more crowded.

The course is in beautiful shape. Gorgeous green fairways and lush rough. Sure, there are some less watered areas in both, but generally lush conditions. The rough is cut down but still sticky and punitive. The greens are very nice. I have seen them faster but not by much. I’m told the aeration on Monday and Tuesday is small tine. The greens are firmer than usual so it may help with that. Biggest negative about the conditions are the sand traps. I switched to a lob wedge out of them because of the thin sand layer.

Well worth playing if in the area.

Walked 18 this AM for my usual Friday round.

Great course for $18 if you are a Sr.

Course was in good shape.

Tee boxes fine. Fairways clean and playable. Rough cut down. Traps playable.

Greens were nice and clean and chipped/putted good all round. Not big greens very little undulations but many elevation changes on some not all.

Nice little driving range. Good eats and snacks in the small grill.

Recommended if you are in the area and want an inexpensive and quick round.

Unlike S CA where afternoons are taken up by HS or slow players that is not the case here.

Always easy to obtain a twilight time and with cart its $20 or $10 to walk for Sr or veterans.

They keep the course in great shape and even found the rough cut down today which was in the past IMO to high.

Tee boxes clean level and playable.

Fairways are wide and lush with good lies and roll out on all holes.

They have even gone in a cleaned up the bunkers making them much more playable. Very few fairway bunkers but many around all the greens.

Greens were good, playable and had decent speed. They are not overly large nor filled with undulations but some do have some elevation changes in them.

Great customer service from all encountered.

Had a great BLT and 2 beers after the round. $13.50 total and no tax.

played Fri 5/29, 9am tee time; nice cool day, 1 club wind most of the round. Course in decent muni shape. Greens slow and bumpy. Overall looks like it's coming out of winter. Fun course, with some interesting holes. I really like the restaurant. Had a good time. Definitely worth a play, but I wouldn't make it the centerpiece of a golf trip.

Super fun time teeing it up with rgm2525, GDR23 and for the first time smurd21 at Spanish Hills Club. I don’t play as often anymore but when I get chance to play with a GKer I have not before, I love it. Thank you everyone that comes out to my events.

Spanish Hills Club is one of my favorite places to have a golf outing at. The course is very fun, challenging and always in great shape. There are beautiful views of the ocean on holes 15 & 16 and beautiful views of the mountains from the clubhouse and front nine. They have gorgeous clubhouse with excellent event services. Driving range is awesome and grill/snack bar rocks. Our Spanish Hills Club events always sell out, for good reasons. Read GDR23’s review below for a detailed breakdown of the conditions and his experience. Our next event at Spanish Hills Club will be on November 2nd!

Be sure to consider Spanish Hills Club if you looking to join a club in Ventura County. You'll be very impressed!

No sand in the traps. layout is good and the staff was friendly. Worth and occasional play but you do have to pay a $10 non refundable reservation fee (which is credited back to you if you show up).

Played Vista 9 whites yesterday 11:30 with son and two big hitting locals Nick & Scott. Warm busy day with one of three 9s closed for morning maintenance. Vista started out near hilltop uphill going through several large elevation drops to finish. Fairways & rough lush not hard to hit out of with some steep native areas to avoid. A couple dry creekbeds to cross over with a few lakes on the other 9s. Nice conditions with a few dry or thin areas mostly limited off fairways and one green thin along unused edge probably slow to recover from dry winter. Undulating greens smooth and quick with additional subtle breaks. Pete and Linda Sue in golf shop nice, friendly and informative of conditions and rental equipment. Organized starter had gps carts ready to go with water, ice and clubs. Enjoyed golf and great views of Rockies and Flatirons. Recommend playing 9-27 holes whenever in area and Omni Hotel nice as well.

One of my very favorite courses to play. I think the variety of the holes, coupled with the general setting of the course is extremely pleasing - fun, interesting, sufficient challenge, yet fair and not overly penal. There are so many holes which present somewhat of a unique perspective, not found on most other tracks. Condition of the course was about what I have come to expect. Greens had nice pace and rolled true and were receptive. Good coverage in the fairways. Did not find any bunkers, but all appeared well maintained. Staff is always friendly and great to deal with. Highly recommend this course. Wish it were closer to my location

Yes I am getting older but I can still play 36 in one day.

After Rolling Hills I drove to Chico to play Bidwell Park a course I have not played in over 50 years.

This is truly a great public course that has stood the test of time. I know 9 holes opened in the 30's but no idea about the back 9.

Really two different 9's. Front very flat with little elevation changes but a back 9 with strong par 4's, great par 3's, elevation changes and beautiful setting in Bidwell park up against the hills.

Course does show its age in some ways. Older fairways that don't always give you a good lie + a good bounce on your kidneys in the fairways. So the carts are not the newest by any means.

Small greens that will test your game all round and while not big they are fast. And many greens elevated from the fairways and bunker guarded.

Older tee boxes that could use some leveling. But playable.

Fairways guarded by large trees and Chico creek that can ruin a drive. Or 2nd, or 3rd shot.

Traps are not the best but just OK.

Yes it is an older course but its got great bones and the layout is terrific.

Its a course that golfers who like tradition should play and one that they will not soon forget.

Highly recommended. Bring your GPS and some water.

The previous reviews while old are correct this course is a beast. But only if you play from the wrong tee boxes. And it is not walkable.

A true links course without a doubt.

A truly beautiful layout in the rolling hills of Corning CA with the coastal mountains to the W and towering Sierras to the E.

Course is minutes off I 5 at Exit 628. Highly recommended. And of course its a casino with a hotel

Green green amongst the golden fields of rough waiting patiently for you to feed them.

The layout is stunning. Five par 3's of different lengths and green sizes. 5 par 5's of various lengths with elevation changes and doglegs challenging you to hit over the waiting rough. Thats the back 9. Standard front 9 of 2 3's, 2 5's and 5 4's.

The designs of these holes are wonderful. Short, long, intimidating, challenging and beautiful to look at.

Beautiful large manicured tee boxes.

Large wide lush fairways providing great rollout and wonderful lies all day. With lots of elevation changes and plenty of side hill and above feet lies to challenge your game.

Rough that you never want to go in. If you don't find your ball and you won't they might not find you? Or a rattle snake might. Heard many during the round when I approached a couple of areas early but none after that I knew better.

Sad to say rain, wind and lack of work on the traps was the one remaining demerit of the course. No idea why the traps looked this way but most of them were not playable.

Great large greens with plenty of slope and undulations to make any player take notice and really really focus on making a good putt. Speed at 12 so 3 putts were waiting.

Wonderful customer support in the shop.

World class carts with an amazing GPS.

Great driving range and practice putting greens at clubhouse and 1st tee.

And the greatest deal of ever. $4.99 regular gas at the service station.

Any golfer passing through should stop and play. You won't be disappointed.
