Played here today. With all the courses doing their greens you have to call around (or use GK) to know their schedule. Eagle Vines is doing theirs Oct 5. So out we went.

Found the course in its usual great shape as is the case here.

Tee boxes all clean and playable.

Fairways are nice and wide and were rolling out providing good lies and they had good coverage.

In one bunker no issue with playing out and heard no bad comments on others who also had the pleasure.

Greens are big and undulating and it helps to have a little knowledge from past times playing here to know were to play to the pins. They chipped/putted well and held and also released shots all round.

Finally had time to enjoy lunch and beverage in The Eagle Grill. Great food selection and service. Great outdoor pation overlooking Napa valley and the course. Weather today was perfect for it.

I like playing here as it is like playing two different 9's. Back 9 belonged to the Chardonnay course next door when it was a 36 hole complex. Johnny Miller came in and designed a new front 9. And with no houses on the course only vinyards and views it is a really relaxing round of golf.

Quick review after visiting Encino this past weekend after being away from the game on vacation for a few weeks. It was nice to get back out there at a 'manageable' course post-layoff, but Encino (from the blues) will still test your length if anything.

There are three pretty monstrous par 3s on the course all over 200 yards, but the rest of the holes barring a few are very workable. It's a great course to get the kinks out while still having a good time if the conditions are alright.

And right now, those conditions are definitely alright. The greens are in nice shape, the fairways have good-decent coverage in all areas that matter, the rough is playable, the bunkers have an okay amount of sand in them while not being pristine, and the tee boxes are getting the job done.

POP was nice and we even had a cart service guy show up on the 12th hole - never seen that before at Encino, so that was nice on a hot day. Enjoyed the afternoon for sure.

Finished at Woodland in 3 hrs. so I headed over here before my flight.
Fun 18-hole executive in good shape. Tees, fairways, traps all in solid shape. Greens were mostly small, smooth and medium-fast.

Front nine is a little pitch and putty but some solid golf holes on the back nine. Otherwise, good course to use a lot of your clubs on to practice. It was crowded but I had a cart, so I bounced around and played in 2 hours. Worked out perfect for me so a good spot to fit in some golf before a flight, right by the airport.

Toughest course on the trip. Super tight, somewhat quirky layout shoehorned into a hilly site. Course was in very good private course shape. Greens were fast, bunkers were fluffy and the ball sat up nicely in the fairways.

6,100 or so from the blue tees and it played much longer. Not a ton of roll in the fairways and many uphill shots made for a tough round. I forget the hole, but it was a 480-down hiller on the back that I missed a short putt after a short wedge and thought it was a breather par 5, nope! Back nine is much longer but more wide open. Add that to lots of tight treelined fairways on the front and it makes for a very tough albeit fun round.

Not sure if I'm supposed to mention it but mine was a preview round with a friend who is considering joining there. So, the opportunity to play this private course does exist. Worth a look if you want to challenge your game.

Played here on 9/13 at 6:24AM. For the price, this course is awesome! Was $50 bucks in the morning, balls not included for the range. Range is grass, or at least was that day, and big enough to hit long clubs.

Course was in beautiful condition. Tee boxes were all level and no major divots that caused any issue. The fairways were nice, some bare spots here and there but nothing to complain about. Rough had a lot of bare spots, but it is a desert course after all. The greens were nice, a little shaggy and slow, but overall great condition. The bunkers were a little rough, early morning meant the sand was compacted down and pretty tough to deal with. Pace of play was just over 3 hours and we had a complete beginner with us, I imagine we couldve finished in about 2.5 hours or so. Staff was great, complex is nice and the restaurant doesnt open until 9 most days. I would recommend checking this course out if you can.

Played here on 9/12 at around 9AM. There was recently bad weather that hit some of the course resulting in a few greens that are damaged. The course was giving a $20 credit at check-in that could be used on anything because of the damage. The pin locations werent near any of the damage on the greens so to me it didnt even really matter, but helped me towards some gear in the pro shop.

Range is really nice, it is off mats but its the kind of mat you can put a tee in. Range was large enough to rip driver.

The course was beautiful, nothing like playing in the beautiful red rocks of Sedona. The tee boxes were all level, grassy and no major club damage. Fairways were like hitting off a nice lush carpet, minimal worn areas. The rough was a little tricky, some was pretty thick and difficult to get out of. The bunkers were fluffy and no major issues with them.

Pace of play was about 4.5 hours and it was packed this morning. Staff and everyone there was amazing. Highly recommend checking this course out if you can

First time back out in around 3 months after being out of state for most of the summer. I am told there was alot of recent rain, which has this place looking green/lush. Greens are currently outstanding. Medium quick and they roll smooth as a high end pool table. Downhill putts can be almost impossible on some hole locations. So you need to plan and execute your approach shots accordingly. Range and practice greens both upper level quality wise. Nice GPS on carts. Restaurant good for a golf course with a decent selection. POP excellent with most snow birds not here yet. Temps in the 90-95 range this time of year in the afternoons is pretty pleasant w/o humidity most days. Rough is hit/miss and you cannot count on it stopping balls hit around the edges of fairways. Areas getting overspray from the fairways can be lush/deep. But areas 5' away can be low/thin. Fairways and tees mostly lush and well maintained. Sand traps almost always nicely maintained here. Highly recommended.

Ran and played in our first outing back to Rams Hill Golf Club since 2022. What an outstanding job Rams Hill Golf Club did with the turf renovation project from then to now producing immaculate playing conditions the golf course is known for. And what a tremendous job their staff did running our event and treating our players first class.

Despite the scorching drought filled summer leading up to our event we experienced lush green fairways/rough, smooth healthy greens, level lush tee boxes and well maintained bunkers. Due to the heat and preserving the health of the greens they were running slow by Rams Hill GC standards at a 9. However, the speed was precisely consistent from green to green and since they ran smooth with hardly any ball marks, they were an absolute pleasure to play.

The layout of Rams Hill Golf Club quickly reminded me how spectacular it is and truly worthy of being a Top-100 rated golf course in the United States. It’s gorgeous, generous off the tee, severely punishes very poor shots and rewards good shots. It’s very interesting with lots of variety and incredible expansive desert views. What an exceptional piece of land architect Tom Fazio had to work with, and he made the best of it.

Besides the course, Rams Hill Golf Club provides top quality food & beverage services. My foursome played Friday and Saturday enjoying two delicious breakfasts, yummy complementary Ram Shack tacos and lunch after play.

Thank you Rams Hill Golf Club for welcoming our group back and a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone that came out to play in this event (95 players). We’ll be making Rams Hill Golf Club an annual, or possibly a bi-annual, event again moving forward!!!

First time out to Links at Lakehouse on 9/15. This course will skew your stats. Small greens, but fairly flat and easy to putt. Nasty kikuyu grass. So you aren't going to hit so many greens, and chipping is tough. On the other hand, I probably had 5-6 iron shots that I thought were really good that ended up on the fringe just off the green.

Condition - the greens were very good. Soft, and normally I'd expect more ball marks, but the greens are too small to hit for most humans I think. Fairways were decent, generally good grass, but there were many areas that were grass challenged.

The not so good are the bunkers and tee boxes. The sand traps were short of sand in several locations, and I saw a lot of bottoming out. Tee boxes, several are just a mess.

Still, for the price they are charging, it is pretty decent and worth it. Definitely not a destination course, but a fun local affordable track.

Tee boxes were all fine and playable.

Fairways had good coverage but provided little to no roll out. But they are aerating next week so that may explain it? Did give good lies all round.

Traps were all playble in none but heard no complaints.

Rough was not cut recently so it played tough if you were in it.

Greens were all mowed clean and putted with reasonably good speed. Not fast as in the past rounds.

Great customer service in the shop as always.

Always a great place to play either courses though I do prefer the E.

I only took 3 clubs and was just crossing it off the list, but this is a really solid place to work on your game. Most holes are in the 130 range, but you can make your own yardages if you're practicing.

Greens were smooth and fast even though they were small. Bunkers were some of the most well sculpted I've seen on a short course. Filled to the brim with perfect sand better than many of the private clubs I played. Just an enjoyable 9 holes, I was done in 40 min, but you could spend plenty of time here and not get bored.
