snuck out today, Friday, put my name on the list around 1:45 and got out at 2:15. Shawn the starter was awesome. Very nice guy and worked me onto the course as efficiently as possible. The starters here are truly amazing.

$63 to walk, I guess Friday is now considered a "weekend" day. oh well. On the verge of being worth it. Although conditions are overall good to great. It used to be a good value, now just an average value.

Blue Tees were nice for the most part. No complaints.

Fairways were excellent. Excellent coverage and carpet like.

Rough, not much of a problem.

Sand traps were just fine, no issues.

Greens were a little above average. Good condition overall. held shots very well and weren't too bumpy. Medium fast with little ball marks damage. No issues here but weren't perfect.

Service is so awesome from the starters. They always do a great job. Beverage cart was out there a couple times. Marshall was present. POP was 4.5hrs, fully acceptable for this place. We waited on most shots, but moved along at a decent pace. always recommend if you can get out there.

Made it back to Mountain Meadows with a buddy to play a staggeringly warm summer afternoon in Pomona with temperatures into triple digits. Sadly there was no cart service and a blacked out grill/bar with no power, melting ice and cash only. What can you do sometimes?

We played the white tees (riding of course - very basic carts/no GPs) and found the course to really be showing off its better side. You know the saying - 'It's a great course when it's in really good shape.' Well, that's happening now. Impressive fairway coverage and lies with that much sun to deal with every day ... rough is also thick and healthy. Very few hot spots on the course and an intriguing layout with some real challenger holes, but fun all along the way.

Greens are in really great shape and very fun to play ... a little mix of every trick, but all fair and non-gimmicky whatsoever. Rolling faster than you expect, slower than where it ends up landing ... they're tough but enjoyable. You can also hold shots on them which is great.

Bunker and tee boxes all in good to often bordering on great condition. It's really top marks all around right now and I highly recommend getting that 6am tee time to beat the heat - would be ideal right now. Very good value as well ... highly recommended.

After my round at Blue Rock I headed into SF for an appointment at the SF VA. To my surprise I found that Lincoln was right next to the hospital.

When I came out I stopped and asked if I could get on and was told if I can be ready in 15 mins (of course) he would put me out.

My first observation was how old the clubhouse is and looks. 2nd how short the course is 5146 from the tips and par 68. Then I got to the first hole. I immediately thought of #17 at Westridge.

The course may be short but the elevation changes and narrow fairways make the course challenging for someone playing it for the first time. Either play it like Bryson or put the driver away and hit fairway woods/metals and irons.

Lots of trees and dogleg fairways + hills make for an interesting layout.

Tee boxes were hit miss for accepting tees and many need leveling.

Fairways are narrow and need some water as lots of brown areas. But they did have decent rollout even uphill.

Traps were playable but SF golfers might be the worse when it comes to raking.

Virtually no rough to deal with.

Greens were not very large but were soft and putted slow all round. But they were clean and acceptable.

Located adjacent to Legion of Honor Museum and said to be one if not the oldest course on the West coast.

Great views of SF and the Golden Gate bridge but today a little bit foggy for really great views.

Probably not a course for everyone but historic enough to say you played it. If you are in the area go for it. Its different.

Played the E course this morning. Got out early on a beautiful but cloudy morning.

After playing E/W a few times I prefer this one of the 2. I enjoy the variety of holes on this course vs the W.

Tee boxes were all perfect.

Fairways were damp and delivered great lies but not all of them had good rollout.

Traps were all clean and playable. In two and no trouble getting out.

Rough was wet and sticky and there is a lot of it due to the fact the course has many elevation changes, side hill lies, uphill lies and bad rough is waiting for you just outside these fairways.

Greens had all been mowed this early in the AM and held shots, released shots and chipped/putted just great.

The fog lifted late in the round and as the sun rose beautiful views of San Pablo bay and the Marin headlands.

Great service in the pro shop.

Very nice $47 w cart round for seniors.

Early morning 3.5 hour round on a well conditioned course. Staff is always friendly. Practice facilities are well maintained and large enough. The carts are very nice with accurate gps and bluetooth. The tee boxes all had great coverage but many of the tees were set on sloped ground. The rough is thick enough to locate a ball in but advancing it was slightly difficult. The fairways were all cut down shorter than I've ever seen before but still provided good lies. There was quite a bit of water being put down on the entire course which made for limited roll and mud balls. The fairways here are fairly narrow and accuracy is prime. The traps all have real nice sand but some were damp and in need on raking. Hitting a shot from them was not too difficult. The greens all had really nice coverage and looked great. Putting on them was another story. The greens were a little damp and held shots well. The speed was inconsistent from green to green and there WERE numerous ball marks on every hole that had not been repaired. There were so many marks that fixing those in your line got old after a few holes. Most greens here are very small and protected by bunkers. The weekday senior rates are reasonable and freeway access is easy.

7/16/26- Scholl Canyon 8:00AM. Parking lot packed, range was full, and the tennis academy was booming. The course was not that full, but still a little slow for the morning. Scholl Canyon is very dry right now and the fairways are browning. The greens are in really good shape and are holding nicely. The sand needs some love, and the tee boxes are at times not level. For $40 to ride and much less to walk, this course has some great views, and some challenging holes. I always enjoy playing here, and wish I lived a little closer.

If you are looking for a quick 18 with some super short par 3's and short par 4's this is it!

Starter Nick put me on :20min early not long after the mens club cleared. This was welcomed as I figured the heat was near. Had'nt been here in possibly a year and really didn't know what to epect, no recent reviews. First 3 holes I carded par, then skipped the 4th hole asit was playing as a short par 3 due to tee box(s) repairs etc. The 3 some just finishing let me play thru only soon to run into the last of the mens club. Pace of play now was effecting my game, ego back in box. Conditions are good. Some thin areas in landing zones but playable, greens soft rolling better than fair but I see a mixture of grasses on the dance floor. Rough, well it can be thick! Sand all nice white quartz and plays very fair. Tee boxes are not as healthy as you might expect. Nice cart path system with pit stops along the way, water hazards, waterfalls, and probably 6 different tunnels you pass thru traveling between tees. Carts have the best GPS system (geo fencing enforced) fitted w/side mounted cooler ice provided at starter desk. Great pro shop and staff, very nice bar/resturant and very nice outdoor patio with elevated view of #9 tee and green. I hesitate to report anything too negative here but if I touch on this subject maybe the "Mens Club" will notice. I never leave my cart 30-40 yards in front of the green area chip/pitch-up walk up everybody putt out then strut back down to cart and drive off! S..T, all 4 guys riding single in nice custom carts do this constantly! Drive around to the side parallel to pin walk down like everybody else to your ball do your business and be ready to putt out! Just stinks of selfish arrogoant behavior, fortunately the draft Modelo helped wash that memory away. By the time I got bact to the parking lot my truck thermometer read 108 ! For me probably wait till Fall to settle in and the heat to calm down before returning. Almost forgot the Ivy has a decent covered driving range and near by small practice green. Cost me $70.00 for 18/single cart and small bucket. Enjoy.

Tee boxes clean and level.

Wide fairways with good lies and decent rollout all round.

Rough was dry so it was playable but with wide fairways easy to stay out of. Besides you have wine fields, water and some OB to deal with if you really get wild.

Traps were all in good shape and I was fortunate to not be any.

Greens are good size, undulating and hold shots well and release as well. No issues with chipping and putting all round.

Great mixture of 3's 4's and 5's to challenge you for 18 holes.

Other than being a bit warm the course is in a beautiful location with great views of Napa valley W to Marin and N to Santa Rosa.

Had some beer and some great hot dogs with many various toppings to end the day.

With the forecast of 90+ degree temperatures, San Clemente was the logical choice. Coupled with the most recent review, was excited to get back out here. As expected, the course is in really nice condition right now, particularly the greens. Truth is, nothing to complain about - course is overall in great shape. The only downside is how much the rates have increased since the last time I played here, but it's 2026 and South Orange County, so should be grateful it was as reasonable as it was. Compared to everywhere else, it's a bargain.

Played here to wait out the traffic before the ride home. Almost had buyer's remorse. All fivesomes and we were on a 3-hour pace for 9 holes. Luckily things picked up and it was only 2:40 Ish.

Solid locals course all around. Tees, fairways, greens all good. Wasn't in any bunkers but they looked playable if a little thin. Ended up very impressed with this course. It's a full nine-hole par 36 layout with some tough holes (448 par 4) and some easier ones. $15 to walk this one seems like a steal another $12 to ride, but very walkable. Played with 4 locals who play here all the time and had a lot of fun. I think the restaurant just recently opened for business. Well worth it if you don't have time for a full 18

Solid nine-hole course in good shape. Fairways, tees, sand, and greens all above average for $15. Good mix of holes #7 is a standout from the back tee over the water. A little hilly but not a bad walk. 3 groups on some of the holes, waiting on every shot 2 1/2-hour POP.

Fun little nine holer in regrettable shape. The only course in the area I could get on, and I can see why. Lots of brown all around and the greens were weeds. Birdied the first green so I guess it didn't matter. $15 probably overpriced but if they could get it in shape, it is a fun nine to walk. Holes away from the condos on the other side of the tunnel held some interest, shame it's in this kind of shape.
