UPDATE: played 8/06/2026, 6 weeks after reopener.
Fairways, rough and tee box areas are in good shape. Thin for the summer, fairways cut close. New redone green side bunkers are decent, now with thick, soft sand. Fairway bunkers are firm dirt, not much sand.
Prior to the course closure, greens were a disaster. Today, 6 weeks after course reopening, a bit better. On scale of 1-10, I rated a 6, playing partner rated 6.5 maybe 7, comparing greens to a year ago. In our honest opinion, greens need another 3 weeks, and maybe, if they water, fertilize what's in place on greens. Many thin spots, bare spots and machinery track cuts into the green surface. The greens may never get back to what they were the past 11 years. A far cry from the green conditions at nearby The Crossings-Carlsbad or even Golf Club of California-Bonsall. Hell, the green surfaces at Oceanside Municipal are in better condition, rolling then Arrowood currently. What a downfall for the Arrowood GC....sad.

Played 8/5/26 4 PM. POP 3.5. Course is in really great shape for this time of year. Typically the fairways are slightly burnt and painted over. But right now they are mostly green and lush with great coverage. Firm underneath, but playing well. Greens were in great shape. Receptive and rolled well at a medium pace. Tees pretty beat up. Traps in decent shape with the new sand in most. Temps very manageable in the twilight. Easy recommend!

Played today on a beautiful morning for golf. Nice and cool vs the high heat we have been having.

Sr $34 day is here again.

Course in good shape.

Tee boxes all playable.

Fairways nice and wide with good coverage and good lies and roll.


Traps clean and playable.

Rough is heavy and of course vineyards, creeks, water and OB come into play.

Greens very playable and not overly firm with being watered so putting was good all round.

Great venue and location great staff as well.

The T)C Harding Park course was completely closed yesterday. Both greens and tee boxes were seeing seasonal aeration. The Fleming 9 is scheduled for seasonal treatments in two weeks. I think some tree work was also being done on the property.

I played in a tournament so I received a group rate green fees. At this time, this course is not worth the rack rate price. The tee boxes have a lot of crab grass or bare spots. The roughs are thick (not recently mowed) or bare spots where grass is being planted. The fairways have a lot of "ground under repair" and have been overwatered in low spots. The greens are in better shape by comparison. A little bumpy but overall nice.

The carts had messages warning of the GUR but it was not the Tijeras Creek I used to love to play in the past.

Played here on 8/2 and was super hyped for the round, but left feeling underwhelmed. There is no driving range, you hit into a big net. I was pretty disappointed with this part of the course. They do have a nice chipping area and two practice greens which seemed to roll true to the course greens. No GPS on the carts, but you can use their free phone app that works OK. The course itself was great, except the bunkers. Tee boxes were nice, flat and lush. Fairways were like a sponge which I really like and the greens were a little shaggy but rolled good enough. Worth playing once for some of the views, however, I dont know that I would be back.

Played here on 8/1 in the morning. Course was in fantastic shape. They have a very large putting and chipping area, along with a driving range. Balls are provided as part of your tee time. Course was in really great shape, tee boxes were flat and lush, same with the fairways. This course isnt extremely tough, as long as you arent going left and right all day and even then, you might be OK. Bunkers were all nice and fluffy, not many rocks or debris in them which was nice. Pace of play was good, we took about 4 hours and 45 minutes. Overall, I think this is one of the best courses out in Palm Springs.

Played here on 7/31 in the late morning. Weather was hot (107) but I had a blast. I had originally went to kill time before finishing my trip to Palm Springs and had decided to just hit balls on the range, however, their head Groundskeeper James twisted my arm into playing and I sure am glad he did. The range was nice, its fully grass and plenty big enough to rip driver. There is a large putting green just before the first tee which rolled true to the course. James let me know ahead of time there was a fungus on a few of the tee boxes and they wouldnt look as good as the rest of the course, and he was right, but it didnt bother my play at all. Course was fun, not very long distance wise and if you dont got too left or right youll end up in play. Some great elevation tee shots, lots of lizards, birds and snakes around. Overall, I would highly recommend playing at Oak Valley if youre in the area, I know I will be back.

What heat wave?

Las Posas Country Club in Camarillo, CA (Ventura County) was once again a fantastic host for our golf outing on Monday, August 3rd. Besides being treated to a fun challenging layout, with great views, beautiful playing conditions, and exceptional tournament services; Camarillo is ideal for beating the heat as we had pleasant coastal weather with highs in low 80’s.

Thank you everyone that comes out to these Vivid Golf/Greenskeeper.org/Golf Moose Private Club events! Its so good to see many Greenskeeper.org members + the regular players/small groups that join in on the fun. One of big hits with these events is the pre-round putting skill challenge for a free Vivid Golf premium polo gift card. These are high quality, high-end polos now in over 500 proshops across the United States. Players get two chances to make a moderately challenging putt to win. The skill challenge in included with the cost of entry for the event. It has become very popular with a large line of players collectively reading the putt and cheering each other on. Everyone gets a chance to win.

Played this morning just before 7:30 am, trying to beat the heat. I walked from the black tees playing as a single. Pace of play was about 4 hours. The foursome I ran up against on #5 asked if I wanted to play through but I told them to go ahead as I was fine with the pace. There was a brief delay when one of their players collapsed next to the 17th green but he was able to drive himself back to the clubhouse when he was able to get up. Otherwise a pleasant walk on a nice morning.

The course is in fine shape right now. The greens are really nice. Soft with extra water being put on them because of the heat, the were running fast and true. No excuses on these greens (unfortunately). The rough is cut down but still not easy to deal with. The fairways were beautiful for the most part although there were some burned out areas in both the fairways and the rough. There was not as much run as normal because of the watering. The tee boxes still have some issues with levelness but the grass was lush and really nice for the most part. Far better than I am used to in my LA County courses.

The course is well worth playing if you are in the area. Use your bug spray as I was warned by a patron in the pro shop.

Played in the Men’s Club Event today and was impressed with the overall condition of the golf course, especially when considering this prolonged heat wave we’ve been dealing with.

Tee boxes were in good shape although a few presented some slight undulations that affected ball and/or foot placement. Fairways were healthy and green, thereby providing excellent lies but little roll-out.

Kikuyu rough is thriving right now…and a bit longer than usual in some places…so enter at your own risk. Shots around the green are quite the challenge; it takes a bit more speed than you may think is necessary in order to get the ball to jump. Few, if any, options to ‘get cute’ on a delicate shot if you happen to find yourself in this stuff. It’s basically ‘hit and hope’ so be sure to weigh the pros and cons accordingly when assessing your shot.

Greens were a touch slower than what I would normally encounter here but still rolled true. Could be the extra water being applied in order to keep them from burning out in the heat. As a result, was able to get a 4-wood to settle down within 6 feet of it’s pitch mark on one hole and throw a wedge into #18 that literally ‘stopped on a dime’.

While a few holes showed more cosmetic damage than others due to old, unattended ball marks…such as #1, which always seems to have this problem…I really had no complaints. And with the increased watering around the greens, many of the previously worn down or barren fringe areas now offer healthier lies to chip/pitch from where putter was the best choice earlier this summer.

Did not face any sand shots today but the traps are usually well maintained and quite playable as a rule. There aren’t any steep-faced bunkers to navigate so you’ll most often encounter a fairly straightforward shot.

I’d give ‘AB’-North a strong recommendation if you’re looking for a solid venue that offers a lot of value at an attractive rate. White tee markers were pushed way back on many holes today so the course played longer than usual; with little roll out…and a steady 15MPH wind in our faces over the final six holes…it took some solid ball-striking to navigate that stretch successfully.

Review from 7/31. South Course will be closed this week to aerate greens. If they turn out as well as the North, it will be amazing. Summer heat has taken its toll on the fairways, particularly holes 11 thru 13, which because of the clay soil on these holes, is an annual problem. Otherwise, the course has held up rather well.
